The competition is closed, but for the sake of anyone closely watching the competition, here are the original guidelines:
Please read carefully, don’t skim.
- Suggestion - Feel free to use your own:
- text or titles to break up the sequences, just like a real cinematic movie trailer
- Narration or voice-over
- camera moves
- transitions (wipes, fades)
- mood (comedy, action, epic)
-
- Suggestion - Try to use audio + video to excite or impress the viewer. Your editing should reflect the pace of the music, so
- if you use fast music, use quick cuts and lots of action.
- Slow music will be better suited to beauty shots, slower animation and landscapes.
-
- Rule - The idea is to promote the store, so add these two URLs to the end of the trailer:
-
- Rule - Don’t use any music from original Brackenwood episodes, unless it’s your own performance and/or arrangement. For example, if you want to record yourself playing ‘Bitey’s Theme‘ or the Prowlies ‘Flight to the River‘ tunes, go right ahead. Be sure to include the copyright information as in the following example:
- Music - ‘Bitey’s Theme’ ©2006 Adam Phillips and Spider Stacy. Arranged and Performed by Jack Boink.
-
- Rule - As mentioned above, the music you use is entirely up to you. Brownie points for composing your own music but if you use someone else’s, you agree by entering the comp that you accept sole responsibility for your choice of the music and you hold Brackenwood Entertainment harmless from any legal hassles that arise from it. It’s only courteous to credit the copyright holder, writer and performer of any music you use, so you must include these credits at the end of the trailer.
- Writer and/or Performer
- Copyright Holder
-
- Rule - Trailer should consist of the following in any particular order:
- Trailer body (the video itself)
- Music Credits
- Personal Credit (that’s you!)
- Brackenwood URLs
-
- Rule - When you upload to YouTube, name your video whatever you like, but in order to qualify you must state in the author notes that it’s your “Brackenwood Trailer Contest Entry”.
- Rule - Very important:
- Email me your YouTube URL with this exact subject line: Brackenwood Trailer Contest
- You’ll get an auto-reply confirming that I’ve received your email.
-
- Simple Facts - My decision’s final, I may update these rules as we go, etc., etc., etc.
- Suggestion - Sit back and wait!
