Work on The Last of the Dashkin 2 (temporary title) has begun. The story has been in place for a while but it’s now a matter of getting it into screenplay format before moving on to panels and a working visual format.
LotD was a prologue. The plan for part 2 therefore is that it’ll be an on-board view as the story really begins to blossom. It’s not the story that will be told in the feature film, so some of the bigger mysteries will remain.
For the conclusion of the story, I’ve decided against putting myself through hell. In other words, I’m using Animate Pro. I have a plan and a little secret to help me get the movie onto NG at a reasonable filesize. In the meantime, I’ll keep you posted with screenshots and updates!

Very eager to see the character difference in this squeal. I’m curious to whether you’re going to change them a lot due to different tools in TBAP or more the fact you can add more detail without the lag.
Regardless, hanging out as usual for progress reports and more so screen shot updates.
Good luck!
Looking forward to the next episode and see the Animate Pro result.
I know you will be showing some progress shots but is there any chance of some of the pre-computer work being shown, e.g. character sketches, storyboard shots, etc. It would be great to see the way you move from thumbnail idea to working final design.
Have fun doing it
I don’t do anything pre-computer. All my concept sketches, writing, storyboarding, background design are done digitally, so that’s the kinda stuff I’ll be showing first
Definitely a paperless workflow then
Thanks for letting us know
Yeah anything would be unreal to see!
who cares about reasonable file size. make it as big as necessary!
well if it’s toO0o big, it makes submitting to NG difficult. Considering Newgrounds is my main sponsor, I need to ensure the movie meets their submission criteria.
Will you post a higher resolution one on your own site then, or will it be the same as the one on Newgrounds?
I’ll post highest resolution/quality wherever possible. Ideally I’ll export a top quality version that can be submitted everywhere. For my own site, I imagine it’ll be either a YouTube or Vimeo embed.
Ah Animate is very nice. Just bought it a couple of weeks ago. It’s epic.
It sure is. I plan on eventually writing some Animate tutorials here on the blog
