There are 2 new t-shirt designs available now from the BrackenStore. I’m really happy with the new Bitey design but the Brackenwood logo is my new fav shirt. Effects Animation

Elemental Magic is a soon-to-be-released book about effects animation. No, I didn’t write it but I’m sure it’ll be awesome anyway

2D Special Effects animation resources have always been very difficult to find so something like this has been a long time coming. There’s a slight pang of regret that the author, Joseph Gilland has done what I’ve been meaning to do for 5 or 6 years, because I think the book will be a great success.

He too has worked in effects for Disney. His portfolio includes some high profile stuff for Disney features like Lilo & Stitch, Mulan and Tarzan. These are the films from which effects animators like me would print reference frames and pin them all around our cubicle walls at Disney, so I think it has certainly been written by the right person.

I’ll write a full review when my copy arrives. It can be pre-ordered from Amazon.
